these 3 dozen cupcakes were prepared for an absolute last minute order to celebrate a kindergarten class finishing learning about space. because there wasn't any time for detailed decorations the cupcakes were decorated with pink and blue stars with yellow sprinkles (because the order specified different colours for the boys and the girls). though the design was very simple they turned out really cute.

from one olympic cupcake to 5 dozen! these cupcakes were ordered by a local elementary school whose graduation had an olympic theme. each cupcake was topped with olympic rings and placed in an individual package personalized for each graduate. there was also a large sheet cake for friends and family. it was a good thing the cupcakes had the kid's names on them because apparently they looked so good the other invitees kept trying to grab them!

want a really BIG surprise for a special someone's birthday? why not order a GIANT cupcake like this GIANT chocolate cupcake with banana buttercream. made from as much batter as 24 cupcakes it is enough to feed the whole office! this particular order was for a monkey themed GIANT cupcake so i decided to make an adorable monkey climbing up the frosting. he turned out so well it was hard saying goodbye though the pain was eased a bit when this e-mail was received:

Thank you very much. Your service and cupcake design were both stellar! I will not hesitate to recommend you to any of my friends. And I will never consider buying a (standard) birthday cake again. Cupcakes all the way!

to celebrate venezia's end of the year dance recital her mom placed an order for cupcakes with only one specification; they had to be girlie! topped with pink frosting and decorations fit for a 5 year old princess our cupcakes were a big hit.

I just wanted to thank you for exceeding my expectations! My daughter LOVED THEM and all the guest really enjoyed them. The lime cupcake was a crowd favorite, some said it was like eating a key lime pie! The fondant decorations were beautiful and well worth every penny. You have a true talent and I'm happy to have found your site.

in honour of the one year anniversary of the launch of http://www.clevercupcakes.com i thought it only appropriate to post one of this week's many birthday boxes!

i was impressed when last week an order came in all the way from london, england until a few days later a woman in kenya ordered these chocolate orange cupcakes with chocolate buttercream for her daughter's 21st birthday.

these cupcakes were also the last dozen to be baked before the start of my well earned one week vacation. clever cupcakes will officially be closed from june 1-9, 2008.

after receiving orders for teacher appreciation cupcakes for high schools and elementary schools, this time the challenge was to come up with designs for cupcakes to thank workers at a local daycare for all their hard work. what did we come up with you ask? how about apples, ABC blocks, little hand prints, and the cutest handmade fondant crayons you have ever seen! the crayons turned out so well i had to assure everyone at the daycare that they were in fact edible. the cupcakes were each individually packaged in plastic containers topped with bundles of primary coloured ribbons. the cuteness factor was through the roof on this order! now the only teachers we have yet been asked to thank are university professors...
