Not your Rabbi's Cupcake...

These cupcakes weren't for an order but rather for a friend's birthday. Of course what else is there to do after spending the morning baking orders at the store than come home and bake more cupcakes?

I love the combination of salty and sweet, so I decided to make cashew cupcake frosted with maple bacon cream cheese icing and topped with a piece of crispy bacon. The flavours were perfectly balance and they made for the perfect dessert for our evening.

I'd love to add the maple bacon cream cheese icing to our menu, but I don't think I can bring myself to fry that much bacon on a regular basis!
